Join the Empire for some drinks

This is the first official meet up for the Empire, we are bringing a new game art meet up event to the calendar, while also bringing a variety of learning communities together at the same time! It is good to keep in mind that we're all coming together to meet in person, for a lot of us this will be the first time. Be sure to be able to share information easily, make friends and enjoy the communities we are a part of!


Some of the people who will be attending, DiNusty himself – Jeremy Estrellado, The host of the GDD podcast – Alex Beddows, Founder of Experience points – Kem Yaralioglu, members of the leadership team from Dekogon studios, plus a whole host of game artists from studios across the UK !

Meeting and Drinking

The Barley Twist is a two-floor craft beer and wine cellar, housed in a former sweetshop on Nottingham’s Carrington Street. The beer range at the Barley Twist is all about celebrating small artisan breweries, with a focus on natural European styles, although you’ll find one of the broadest selections in Nottingham’s city Centre. You can take your pick from three fridges of bottles and cans, 10 draught keg lines, and two rotating cask hand-pull featuring Castle Rock’s latest releases as well as a small selection of other local small batch brews. If you’re visiting for the vine, we’ve devised an exquisite wine list featuring over 75 wines from all over the world including increasingly popular natural wines. You will also find premium spirits, soft drinks, locally roasted coffee and a range of specialty teas on the menu.
